Nicole Spencer-Skillen is a number 1 best-selling author of Lesbian Romance and Fiction. Originally from Lancashire, England. She is 28 years old and happily married to her wife of 2 years. She has spent the last decade writing quotes, short stories and LGBT novels recreationally. When she is not writing, you will find her travelling the world, doing endless HIIT workouts or relaxing at home with her 2 dogs whilst dreaming up her next novel.
Lesbian romance is a genre Nicole is incredibly passionate about and she would love nothing more than to make an impact within this area. Growing up, she did not see herself represented in the books she read or in the book industry as a whole. Therefore, she predominantly read heterosexual romance novels, which happen to be some of her favourite books of all time, but they lacked the emotional pull she needed as she didn’t feel she could fully resonate with the characters. That is why her aim is to write books that the LGBT+ community can connect with.
Nicole believes her writing to be real, honest and modern, but most importantly relatable. Her main aim is to appeal to the LGBT audience; the people who are looking for inspiration, especially the younger generation of gay women. She wants them to be able to see themselves in a book and resonate wholly with the characters and feel the realness of them as they read it.
Fun facts about Nicole, if she could live anywhere in the world it would be New York City. The city of dreams. Her favourite book is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks of which she proudly owns a first edition. Her favourite sport is basketball, she proudly supports the Los Angeles Lakers and religiously watch’s every game. She has a passion for quotes, as you would expect after studying some of the most famous quotes throughout history. The one that resonates with her the most, is actually very simple.
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
